Downtempo mix... 5th year anniversary

This is a mix I did back in August 2004. During that summer I had been tapping up Fat City Records in Manchester (where a lot of the vinyl here came from), and really wanted to lay down a mix featuring a rather nice blend of soul, funk, disco & hip hop... totally eclectic. Seeing as it's almost the 5th anniversary of the mix... here it is again... still totally relevant, and having never been far from the stereo in all this time.

Anyway, here's the link:

Michael Jackson tribute (of sorts...)

Ok... I think the guy was a complete tool, of dubious morality/sanity/maturity (delete as appropriate). But, he did make some really good music and the boy could dance. I thought his early stuff, and his time in the Jackson 5, was head and shoulders over anything he did in the 90's and beyond.

So as a tribute to his recent passing... here's a great video for the Jackson 5's "I Am Love". Some hilarious dance moves!!

In my thirties and still dancing like a gooner...

Just before christmas 2008 I decided to do a new mix... dedicated to being in my thirties. No real purpose behind the track selection, other than just good tunes that keep me grooving despite me getting ever closer to the grave. All house music, on a deep tip, with a sort of old school vibe thrown in for good measure...
